The wonderful words of Allah
Al Salaam Aleikum, as we start Tafseer (Interpretation) of Qur’aan, I need to ask you to please buy a special note book, or open a new file in your computer and call it: the Lexicon of Qur’aan. In this Lexicon you will place terms that we come across, and we will find the meaning according to what Allah says, not according to what we want to make up. So please, let us benefit as much as we can. After you read the first message, if you think this is something good, can you please bring others and tell them to join my mailing list, I will send directly to their mail box Insha Allah. Come let us learn the book of Allah with all of our hearts, also help me reach others in the world, some of your brothers and sisters are dying to have this kind of knowledge about Qur’aan, help me reach them if you do not mind. For those who want to learn how to read Qur’aan in Arabic, I have prepared few lessons and will add to them as we go along Insha Allah, if you want to receive the old lessons, please send me an E mail to my mail box at massadi2022@hotmail.com, if you study this hard enough, and then study what I will send in the future Insha Allah, you will learn how to read Qur’aan in Arabic. Before we start, let us introduce Qur’aan to all of your hearts first. What is Qur’aan, a question we all need to know the answer for; also what is Islam?
Some of you think and believe how Islam came and started with Muhammad SAW, this is not true, Islam was always the religion from Allah, please read this Ayah 3:19, which says:
إِنَّ الدِّينَ عِندَ اللّهِ الإِسْلاَمُ وَمَا اخْتَلَفَ الَّذِينَ أُوْتُواْ الْكِتَابَ إِلاَّ مِن بَعْدِ مَا جَاءهُمُ الْعِلْمُ بَغْيًا بَيْنَهُمْ وَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِآيَاتِ اللّهِ فَإِنَّ اللّهِ سَرِيعُ الْحِسَابِ
“Religion from Allah is Islam, those who were given the books before debated only after they received this fact in an unjust manner among themselves, and whosoever does not believe in the words of Allah, Allah will rush His punishment based upon such”. Therefore, we all need to know at this point how Religion from Allah was always one, which is Islam, how?
Almost all of us think how there are three religions in the world today, Islam, Christianity and Judaism, is this true, or false? See, what I say, or what you say does not stand solid at any time, this is why we need to study the facts? If we look in the Judeo-Christian book, we will not find the word Judaism anywhere period in all of the books that they have, and if we study hard we will see how the word Jew or Jews did not show up in the Jewish book before a book named: Ezra, which covers almost 2/3 of the book, and Moses SAW who brought the faith never heard of the title Jew or the faith called Judaism in his life. As for Christians, it is found in the book called: the book of Acts how they were called Christians by a man named Paul, Jesus SAW never heard about, this took place long after Isa SAW left to the Heaven to be next to Allah as Allah said in Ayah 3:55.
Again, this does not prove anything, how do we know that Islam was always the religion assigned by Allah? Ok, at the beginning of time we had a messenger named Noah SAW, this is from the very beginning, when the Flood came to his people, please read what Noah said in Ayah 10:72:
فَإِن تَوَلَّيْتُمْ فَمَا سَأَلْتُكُم مِّنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلاَّ عَلَى اللّهِ وَأُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ
“I asked you no pay/reward, my pay/reward is from Allah, and I was ordered to be a Muslim”. Some may say: yes Muslim means: the one who puts his face toward Mekka, no this is false, this is the definition of what is a Muslim individual, but in this case we relay this word back to the Ayah above, Religion from Allah is Islam, then Muslim here mean on the faith of Islam.
What else, we have Abraham SAW from the beginning of time, some think he was on Earth 4000 yeas back, but this is not true, however, even if we accept, please read Ayah 3:67 says:
مَا كَانَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ يَهُودِيًّا وَلاَ نَصْرَانِيًّا وَلَكِن كَانَ حَنِيفًا مُّسْلِمًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ
“Ibraheim was not a Jew or from the Nazarene, but he was true Muslims, and he was not a Mushrik”. Now that we saw the meaning of Islam which means the name of the religion from Allah, we need to ask: what is the meaning of a Mushrik. A Mushrik is that who worship something besides Allah. We will discuss this in detail later Insha Allah. Now we saw how Noah and Ibraheim were Muslims, let us give few more examples to show how all the men of Allah were Muslims, and how Islam did not appear with Muhammad SAW, but was always the faith.
Moses SAW was the Pillar of the Israeli’s faith; he said in Ayah 10:84:
وَقَالَ مُوسَى يَا قَوْمِ إِن كُنتُمْ آمَنتُم بِاللّهِ فَعَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلُواْ إِن كُنتُم مُّسْلِمِينَ
“and Moses said to his people: my people, if you believed in Allah, depend on Him if you were Muslims”. This is one of the greatest messengers for the children of Israel. We see how most Israelis were Muslims, those who we mentioned so far. Ayah 3:52 says:
فَلَمَّا أَحَسَّ عِيسَى مِنْهُمُ الْكُفْرَ قَالَ مَنْ أَنصَارِي إِلَى اللّهِ قَالَ الْحَوَارِيُّونَ نَحْنُ أَنصَارُ اللّهِ آمَنَّا بِاللّهِ وَاشْهَدْ بِأَنَّا مُسْلِمُونَ
“when Isa sensed disbelieving from the Jews he said: who are my supporters in Allah, the Disciples said: we are you supporters in Allah, we believed in Allah, and be our witness we are Muslims”. There you go, the great among the messengers, all had the testimony of Islam. Therefore, since Allah created this system, Islam was always the faith from Allah. Therefore, we need to ask, what Muhammad SAW brought us, the answer is simple, he brought the last chapter of Islam, and he also received the Noble Qur’aan from Allah. Then let us in love and respect to our prophet and to the words of Allah, let us learn together the meaning of the words of Qur’aan.
As for the question: what is Qur’aan, Qur’aan is the only book from the LORD that has been preserved through the ages, and will continue till the day come. We will learn more of what Qur’aan is also what is Islam when we go in depth studying the Noble Qur’aan Insha Allah.
