Qur’aan Deep Study-4
Please come to understand this?
Al Hamdu Lillah the source of all the good things, Al Hamdu Lillah who kept us on the right path, and who helped us in every regard as we seek His kind loving help. Al Hamdu Lillah who made Dua (prayer) a possible thing, He also said: Ask and expect response this is a sure promise. Ya Allah I am thanking you, please respond to my thanks if you will. And the end of our Dua is: Al Hamdu Lillah Rabbal Aaalamein (Ayah 10:10).
Al Salaam Aleikum, one wonderful reader wondered where I get this teaching from, and whether this is Tafseer of Qur’aan or what exactly it is? Before I answer let us ask a simple question: what is the meaning of Tafseer, then we will discuss how it differs from what we are doing here Insha Allah? Tafseer of Qur’aan, also called Taaweel, with some difference between both but let us not get into this extremely deep complicated debate at this time please, just know Tafseer like Taaweel explains the words of Allah in the Noble Qur’aan in a direct manner and approach, and the simplest manner possible.
Now, unlike Tafseer and Taaweel of Qur’aan, what I am sending and sharing with you is not called Tafseer or Taaweel, it is called: A Deep Study of the Noble book from Allah, and it is exactly as I called it, nothing more and nothing less, how can we understand this better in regard to Tafseer and Taaweel? Tafseer and Taaweel deals with the basics in Qur’aan that should be understood in one way only, which is the most direct, however, our study deals with different Reflections about the basics in the Noble book. Let us take an example, we had a very small discussion so far about the first word in the Noble Qur’aan, which is Bism. Now, Tafseer of Bism is simply saying and it means: in the name of, period, finished. While A Deep Study that we are doing, you all are familiar with by now, you have received 3 messages about Bism, reflections to bring Bism closer to the Hearts of those who love Allah above everything else.
Again, let us give another example, take for instance the debate we have with this individual who is shedding sad doubts about the book of Allah wishing to make us believe Qur’aan is not from Allah, he brought us the Ayah that speaks about Zul Qarnain seeing the Sun setting in a Red eye in the Heavens, let us take this Ayah as what Tafseer says, and what A Deep Study may suggest. Now, we all need to pay attention here, and please do not get angry, think about what is being said instead. How what is Tafseer differs from what is Qur’aan, first of all, Tafseer is about the Noble Qur’aan, while Qur’aan is not about the Tafseer. Second, Qur’aan is sent to us by Allah with its own explanation most of the time, while Tafseer was done by wonderful Noble men of the LORD each according to what knowledge and understanding they had back then.
There is nothing wrong with the Tafseer given to us from old times, but there is an issue that need our attention as well, none of those who gave us Tafseer ever said: Allah spoke to me and said this is how you make Tafseer to others, or say: this is what Muhammad SAW ordered me to say. Now, in regard to the Language, those Noble men were the best ever, but the Noble Qur’aan is not only about the best Arabic Language format, but also things that is beyond the knowledge of Old times, and this Ayah is one of such example, therefore, we need to look at what Tafseer of Old said, and how we need to look at it in the light of where we are today. If you look in Tafseer books, also translation taken from those books you will find the following: some said the Sun sets in a Puddle of Mud, another said: the Sun sets in a Black Sea, also many others said different things, but the sad part all missed over a simple issue, so let us make this clear enough today. My friend, you need to understand that though many things are written in the Noble Qur’aan, but still this does not say: this is what Allah says, but Allah tell us who speaks and what he/she says, how? Take Moses SAW for example, when he said: my LORD help me to thank you for your blessings, this is not Allah speaking, but Moses SAW, we need to understand, not everything in Qur’aan is spoken by Allah, but Allah told us about this.
Now, what most but not all of those who made Tafseer overlooked is the words in the Ayah that say: and when he reached where the Sunsets, HE FOUND IT, which means this is not how Allah see things, but how a man from thousands of years back see such. While we in our human eyes see things from down here, Allah is not under these restrictions like us. Now, as Science proved in recent years how Earth turns about its core in 24 hours bringing the day and the night. Say you are at Mekka, when the Sun looks like it is setting in the West, if you have a Jet you can travel fast enough and keep up, you will not see the Sun sets at all, you will continue to be in daylight. Please look at this diagram showing the Sun in orange, and Earth in blue:
Night Day
Night Day
Imagine your place is where the Black Dot is at, when the Black Dot is facing the Sun, your place has daylight, when Earth rotates and your place faces the other part from the sky which is Dark, then your place will be at night. The Sun stays far deep in space, does not come to set on our planet, but we need to understand the meaning of the word: Maghrib before we understand what Qur’aan tells us. Ghroob in essence is when something starts to disappear from sight, like if we say about a star it has Ghroob, means disappearing from our sight, and when the Sun starts to disappear from our sights, we call that moment Ghuroob of the Sun from our limited sights. However, as I said, if you travel fast enough and keep up with the rotation of our planet, you will not see the Sun disappearing period, you keep circling and the Sun will keep showing Daylight on our Earth. Now, what is the Tafseer of: he found it Taghrub fi Ainin Hameaa (disappearing in a Red eye). When the Tafseer of Old tell us how the Sun sets in a Black Sea, or a Puddle of Mud, or even in a Well, this is how they understood that, however and in fact the Sun average distance from Earth is about 92,900,000 miles (149,476,000 kilometers). When the Sun disappears from sight, it stays at this distance from our planet, does not come down here to set in a Black Sea, or Puddle of Mud, or even in a Well.
Is this a mistake in Qur’aan, no it is not, this is wrong Tafseer/explanation from Noble men of Old times, according to what knowledge they had, abused by those who attack Qur’aan, and this is our correction according to what knowledge we have today. Now, how those Noble men made this wrong explanation, simple, some of them did not know the meaning, they tried to seek the meaning from similar words in Qur’aan, like when Allah said: and we blasted from Earth eyes, and Water spread. They said: eye here means wells, then this Ayah must mean the same, they ignored the fact that Allah said: we blasted from Earth eyes, which is not normal, but an event that took place based over the wish of Allah, while this in the Heaven is natural, Wells are fixed, this eye in Heaven isn’t, and is not an event. The situation between the two is different as the difference between day and night. You are free to believe what you wish to believe, those Noble men were not perfect in how they understood Qur’aan, we are not perfect as well, but we use what knowledge added to us which they did not have back then, we went through 1400 years of education after them.
Therefore, you have a choice too, you can stay with wrong explanation of the words of Qur’aan, or you can come to realize this makes Qur’aan sounds mistaken, do you think there are mistakes in the Noble book, just because you cannot accept people are people, and Mhammad SAW said: every human makes mistakes: كل ابن آدم خطاء? Please try to get it: perfection is for Allah. Now again, what is the meaning of this Ayah, simple, we need to back track to the word Maghrib, or Ghurub, and say: Ghurub means to disappear from our sights behind/in something, disappearing in a sense that we cannot see, not that it ceases to exists. This Ayah in Qur’aan is saying: when he reached where the Sun disappears from his sight, he found it disappearing into a Red eye in the Heaven. No, those Noble men were not mistaken, but this is the level of their knowledge 1400 years back, where we are today did not happen over night as well, it did take us 1400 years into their future to our present to come to this level in our education. My friend, you need to understand and believe: Qur’aan is not dead, it is alive, will continue to live even in the Hereafter Insha Allah and will keep teaching us things we did not see yet. Qur’aan is not stuck in what people of Old think, it lives and this is the true miracle Allah gave our messenger and prophet SAW. Ainin Hameaa does not mean any of the words that came in Tafseer/Translations, like Black Sea, Puddle of Mud, or even a Well, Ainin means is an eye, or a place, Ghurub means to disappear behind/in something, then the Sun was/still disappear in a Red eye in the Heaven even now. Noble men of Old tried their best, we are thankful to their wonderful love to teach us, but this is not a Law from Allah that no one should dare to correct if they have wrong explanation of any thing. It is your duty as well as mine.
Yes, this is a Deep study, call it deep reflections, this is not Tafseer, so stop thinking of ways to block this wonderful effort done for your sake, and stop preventing us from doing our Jihad for the sake of Allah, simply because: either you want to leave this Qur’aan behind your back and not learn a thing, or because you think Allah placed this Qur’aan in certain hands, and it is against Allah to try to explain according to modern times. We will never forget our beloved wonderful men who tried their best, but Allah does not obligate anyone beyond toleration, and this is what they tolerated, we accept with love and respect from them, and we bring that which is deeper and which gives a better look because it is our duty as it was theirs. Please help this effort for the sake of Allah, do not think of ways to block it from reaching others, you do not have a clue in what state our Ummah is in today, and what kind of need our Ummah has for this effort today. If you cannot help to spread, do not help to stop, leave judgment for Allah, do not act as a Judge.
