Qur’aan Deep Study-20

Why thank Allah some say

Al Hamdu Lillah when I put my head to sleep, Al Hamdu Lillah who allows me to wake up in the morning. Al Hamdu Lillah for the sunshine, Al Hamdu Lillah who increases us in His wonderful blessing. Ya Rabb, accept our praise; please make us among those who inherit Paradise when the day comes. The end of our Dua (10;10): Al Hamdu Lillah Rabbal Aaalamein.

Al Hamdu Lillah Rabal Aalamein

The last time we said: “THE THANKS” in this Ayah is a key, however, we need to ask: what kind of doors this Thanking may opens up? The first results we may get from thanking Allah is remembering Allah a lot, and speaking His name, how? Imagine when you find food you say Al Hamdu Lillah, when you feel full after hunger you say Al Hamdu Lillah, when you smile say: Al Hamdu Lilah who brought Joy to my heart, look at how you mentioned Allah always. When waking up, when you go to bed, when you start working, when you receive money that support your life and your style of living, when you find a ride in your car or some one else’s, when you have life smiling at you when you need this smile, but never forget, not every smile is something we need to seek, if the teeth of the lion shows, this is sure signs of a serious warning.

Therefore, imagine you say Al Hamdu Lillah with every thing Allah put for you, or put you through, saying Allah, Allah, Allah, Allah with every say of Al Hamdu Lillah nonstop like this puts you among those who mention Allah as Ayah 33;35 says:

Muslim males and females, believers among the males and females, those who pray from males and females, the honest among males and females, the patient among the males and females, those who pray with all of their hearts from males and females, those who give Alms for the sake of Allah from the males and females, those who fast from males and females, those who preserve their organs from Adultery from males and females, and those who mention/remember Allah a lot from males and females, Allah prepared for them forgiveness and the greatest among all rewards in Paradise”. Before we speak about this Ayah, please allow me to indicate something: why Allah repeated males and females in such a number and every time He mentioned an action done for His sake, make us wonder, doesn’t it?

Some non Muslims with their ignorance say: males are above the females in Islam, and women are second class or even less. Though I will not discuss the actions of some Muslims who do not act according to how Allah wishes things, this Ayah like many Ayahs in the Noble Qur’aan clearly say: in the eyes of our maker and creator we are equal in every way we look at things. Males and females are ordered the same orders, expected to follow the same path for the sake of Allah, and will receive the same equal reward of forgiveness and eternal life in Paradise insha Allah. However, when it comes to spending for the cost of living, Allah preferred the male over the female only in such a thing, does not make man superior to women, but make them equal as Allah taught us such things.

Therefore, the first key of Al Hamdu Lillah opens is the Zikir (remembering/mentioning) Allah a lot and always, which in turns opens the doors of paradise, which is the great reward Allah promised us. What other doors thanking Allah opens up? Ayah 14;7 says:

“Your LORD announces; if you pay your thanks, Allah will increase and bless you with more, and if you disbelieve, His torture is so great”. Therefore, say you found the wonderful husband/wife, or Allah gave you a wonderful child, or Allah gave you blessed parent, and you say: Al Hamdu Lillah (Thanks to Allah) for such, Allah will make what you thank Him for increase many doubles of the same wonder you thank Allah for. Yes, it is clear, when we thank Allah, it is better for those who do so, that is why thanking Allah always make us closer to Paradise:

ولإن شكرتم لهو خير للشاكرين

“and if you thank Allah, this great blessing for those who do so”, yes, when we say blessing from Allah, this means endlessly insha Allah.

When we say: we need to thank Allah, this does not mean only by saying thank you LORD with every blessing or gift we receive, but thanking Allah also comes in its best when worshiping Allah is done in the right manner and the type of worship that is proper and correct. We mentioned before many times that the only reason why Allah created us for is to worship Him, worship is the best form of thanking Allah ever performed by any human being. Even those of us who worship Allah need to say: Al Hamdu Lillah who made us among His worshipers, how many believe but do not worship? Why thank Allah, simple, this is good for those who thank Allah, how much goodness exists in this, simply thank Allah and do not start the count? Is Qur’aan from Allah?

Al Salaam Aleikum, the argument now is about Ayah 21;32:

وَجَعَلْنَا السَّمَاء سَقْفًا مَّحْفُوظًا وَهُمْ عَنْ آيَاتِهَا مُعْرِضُونَ

“And We made the sky a protected ceiling, but they turn their backs to the miracles of Allah”. You know something, sometimes those ignorant who attack Allah and Qur’aan confuse me, and they do not even know what to talk about or what kind of questions they can ask; especially when we see their horrible understanding to the Noble Qur’aan. On the other hand, if they understand the Noble Qur’aan they will not stay in the darkness of their beliefs for one second, but will come to the light if they still have any human qualities in them left.

I will be completely honest with you; I do not understand what this Christian from Egypt is trying to say here, or what is on his mind. First thing we see how he wants to speak about Geography again, and as usual this Christian from Egypt has no clue what Geography is all about, he is speaking Astronomy, some Egyptian Christians are funny, and some act like comedians as this character is acting up, and when speaking about the space above, yet thinking he is speaking about Areas on our planet down to Earth ground. This is why I will discuss the Ayah in hope perhaps, who knows I may be answering this ignorant Christian from Egypt who attack Qur’aan at the same time. Let us read the Ayah again, Allah says that He made the sky above as a protected ceiling, how do we understand those blessed words, and this blessed gift before we thank Allah for it? Let us ask: what Allah made the sky above like? Allah said He made the sky above us like a ceiling and this ceiling is protected at the same time, then what?

As we look at all what is called ceilings in everything around, made by Allah or made by man, we notice how the ceiling usually is for protection by itself, how? A ceiling may protect us from the rain, from the Hot Sun, which is more dangerous than the dropping of the rain or Snow most of the time. Do you imagine exposing our heads to the extreme hot Sun for a long time may make some die, do you see how exposing our bodies to the Sun for a certain time make our bodies get Red as if they are cooked up? With this in mind, if we are under any kind of a ceiling, say in a building, or a tent, or even under some kind of a shade of any kind, do you think the Sun has the same effect over us? No the Sun will do nothing, we will feel other factors as humidity, extremely Hot/Cold weather, but we will not suffer the direct effect of the Sun as if we were exposed directly to such.

Therefore, a ceiling is done to protect us in one way or another from different factors such as natural effect like the rays of the Sun. Why Allah used the word Ceiling: سقفا, simple, always when protection is done above our heads we need a ceiling, and on the sides we need walls, and under us we need floors and grounds. Since this protection is needed from above, then the sky become a ceiling in this case, how? The first thing we need to understand how as we look at a house, or a home, we have ceiling (s), we have walls, and we have the solid surface of a ground to stand on. We also see how we furnish this house with things that help us to reside comfortably inside. Here, looks like Allah is telling us how this planet Earth that He chose for us to live on is like a huge house, how?

Let us imagine this house which is our planet Earth that has no walls, can we live in a house with a ceiling and a floor? Yes we can, sometimes a tree with its leaves provide us shade from the Sun, and the good Earth provide us with the bed where we can place our heads on. We can do without walls; however when it comes to decency and privacy walls become a must. So, let us imagine this huge house has a floor, our good Earth, and has the sky above as a ceiling, is this acceptable, yes it is, and more than enough, the extras in the walls and different rooms is a privilege on top.

Therefore, now the idea of having a ceiling is closer to our hearts, we say: a ceiling in general means a way to protect us, we are so fragile, and a lot may cause us a great harm, even a bite of an insect may place us in deep sleep till the day comes. When Allah says that He made the sky above like a ceiling, we also know ceilings are made to protect, then the next question is: what Allah is protecting us from? This alone make us wonder: what harm is there above our heads, coming from the outer space we need protection from, we also need to remember how Allah also said that He made this ceiling protected, which means maintenance is done to this ceiling by Allah, which make things even more serious indeed, a ceiling that is maintained all the time to protect us, and it is protected itself from any decay or fray or from being lost means it is so important to keep this ceiling intact all the time, why? We will answer this and a lot more next time insha Allah, for previous messages, please visit http://rahjx.net/msad.htm

Arabic Qur’aan

Learn how to read Surah (chapter) 2 in Arabic

We start with the letter و W sounding like: WA, then the silent ا A, followed with the letter لـ L that has ّ & َ to make the letter sounds like double LLA. Now we see the letter ذِ TH with a dash under it to make it sounds like THI, then the letter يـ E, and the letter نَ N with a Dash on top to make it sounds like: NA. The whole word sounds like: Wallatheina.

The letter يـُ E with the tone of ُ on top to make it sounds like YU. Then the letter ؤْ W with a ء and a ْ to silence it making both letters sound like: Yuoo. The letter مـِ M with a Dash under to make it sounds like MI, followed by the letter نـُ N with the tone of ُ on top to make it sounds like NU. Again we see the silent letter و W, followed by the letter نَ N with a Dash on top to make it sounds like NA. The whole word sounds like: Yuoominoona.

The letter بـِ B has a Dash under it to make it sounds like BI, the letter مـَ M has a Dash on top to make it sounds like MA, and the silent ا A that follows, the whole word reads like: Bima

أُنزِلَ: The letterأُ A like in An also the tone of ُ on to make it sounds like: AU, the silent letter نـ N, followed by the letter زِ Z with a Dash at the bottom to make it sounds like ZI, and finally the letter لَ L with a Dash on top to make it sounds like LA, and the whole word reads like: Unzila.

The Ayah reads this far: Wallathina Yuoominoon Bima Unzila
